Gas lighting is production of artificial light from burning of a
gaseous fuel, including hydrogen, methane, carbon monoxide, propane, butane, acetylene,
ethylene natural gas. Before electrical energy became satisfactorily
widespread and economical to allow for general public use, gas was the most
popular means of lighting in cities and suburbs. Early gas lights had to be lit
manually, but later gas lights were self-igniting.
This model fits an in ground
post mount like the P99. The measurements are 19 tall and 11 1/2 wide. The
frame is made of cast aluminum for years of use. Solid brass AGA approved
control valve that offers endless adjustments to minimize the amount of gas
consumed versus light output. This is available with standard dual mantle
inverted burner, triple inverted, single upright open flame choices. Also
available for natural gas or LP. Tempered safety glass and two SM2 soft mantles
and gold eagle are also included. Available in black or white.
